Work

They say time flies by when you are busy. I don't think so. Along with my college studies, I got to produce nearly one-fourth of RV's debut, dealing with another case of helping-a-guy-making-his-lover-realise-him-and-his-love, my cousin sister's marriage (who's quite close to me) and stuff. I'm hearing a lot of Linkin Park & OutKast these days. Helping me get rid of the enormous stress going on recently. How I manage to keep this blog updated is still a mystery to me! And, I got some beefs I'm dealing with. But then again, life goes on...............

And, I just made the intro of my mixtape The World (As I See It) too. And I also plan to release another song "Still Runnin'" as a single on 5th October. Not too far from today. I don't know how I'm gonna manage this; taking out some more time to spit fire on the mic (Still Runnin' is a fast track). I really don't know.

By the way, I MIGHT not be able to update this blog regularly, so RV's gonna keep you guys entertained till I come back. Got a marriage to attend! I wish Nikki all the best.

P.S. - Nikki, if you're reading this, I wanna let you know that there's always gonna be a brother by your side no matter what and that you're still gonna be my lil sis :)

Peace

So Difficult

Yes, that's the word. Difficult. Considering that my college re-opened after some holidays and RV's insane plan of releasing a mixtape containing 50 tracks and me producing 10 of the tracks and featuring in 9 of them. That would mean 10 beats and 9 verses. Too much. Especially since I'm already writing verses for my Invading Your Radio series of mixtapes. And the fact that I dropped my latest track "Death of a Hustler" yesterday, dissing an old friend, now an enemy. A raw beef. With so many mixtapes, verses & collaborations pending, how can I prepare 10 beats and write 9 verses???

That's the reason why I encouraged RV to have some new producers to handle his shit. Some new producers are featured in his mixtape too, like Stax of Vocals, a duo. This tape - still untitled - has some new rappers featured too. One of them is "RapperDuDe". A wannabee-ish name if you ask me. But who listens to me?

So, here I am, preparing for mixtape work. Too tiring. If only someone had an air ticket to a place like Hawaii.........

Not Meant to Be

Sometimes a person feels like some (any) particular thing belongs to him, and only him. No one else can even look at that particular thing. But when that feeling slowly (or quickly) fades out, the person tends to see the reality. Such a thing happened to us recently. All of our (group's) friends might be knowing a bit about Low-Ryder, the guy who had a couple of verses in a few mixtapes, namely - "Burnout" & "You Know Who You Are" from 80 H.P. & "Zirakpur's Finest" on Diss-Association. But there was a major beef coming and we didn't know anything about it.

Many months back, there happened a rap battle near the parking lot of our college; between me and Malcolm A, a guy of the same age as me. I won, of course, and the condition was that the loser would not show his face to the winner for a complete semester. So, according to the conditions, I won, and he had to stay away from me by not showing his face. So after the semester went by, he was back with a bang. He had to inflict a wound on me. And what wound's deeper than seeing your best friend (a friend who's with you since Class I) with your opponent? That's right, he took him from me. And that too in a very um, odd way.

We (our group) hold rap battles regularly near our places to check out what's happening in the streets and who's new. And, just like professional wrestling, there was a twist. Malcolm A, with Low-Ryder, came and challenged me to a battle. I was thinking, this handicap match is a piece of cake, especially since I knew both well and their respective weaknesses. But they had a trick up their sleeve. They hit me with THE hardest punchline no one EVER used against me. Not even in the battles that I've lost. I won't reveal that line (it's not that hard-hitting if a random person faces it but it's a killer to me). I lost all my lines, and just stood there. I guess that cunt Low-Ryder must have told A about that line. I was devastated.

Afterwards, I swore that I'm gonna diss the fuck out of both of them. RV, RedFlame, and the gang offered their help in making the tracks, but I declined. It was MY battle. No one interfered in MY battles. So I'm alone, preparing "Euthanasia Pt. I" and "Euthanasia Pt. II", thinking that some things are not meant to be.

It's My Life

22nd September 2010

As I take a bite from my French Toast and sip a little coffee, I realise that the bass on "I've Told Myself" is a bit low. Damn, now who's gonna start all over again? I, of course, who else? You can laugh for all you want, but it ain't funny. Then suddenly RV calls up; he says that he's done with preparations (studio room) and he's waiting for me to come over to his place. Getting ready and reaching his place in 30 minutes ain't that easy and as soon as I reach his block, he calls and says he's at my place and waiting. I tell him to come back to his own house. God, already..........

iPod out, earphones inside ears and fuck the world! Suddenly Limp Bizkit sang to me. Long time since I heard them last. Chocolate Starfish's "Rollin'" reminds me once again of that street race about 3 months back. All of a sudden, RV's car is visible (thank God for this). I was near dead of boredom, a little tired of waiting and a bit sweaty (I had donned a cap, alongwith blue jeans, a black BattleField T-Shirt and had a duffel bag with me). So we enter his place, and head to his mini-studio. I put my bag on his table and start unloading it. CD, Pen Drive, headphones, mic, rhyme book, everything present. I switch on the room's computer and pop in the CD containing the instrumentals for out debut project, "Beat It" for a listening party! :P

It took complete 2 hours to edit the written, record it and mix the final damn thing. The first track recorded was "50 Bars [The Farewell]" and it's from our group of friends' mixtape titled "Diss-Association". We deserved a break! We went to the local basketball court and started dunking a few shots. I don't know how, but my other pals SJ, Burrito, Ritzer and DJ RedFlame (of the aforementioned group) were in sight and they came over. I guess RV caled them. We played ball a bit, then we went back and recorded "A Bleeding Bitch" (the posse cut from 80 H.P., another tape).
